This is a pretty funny article from Wired about alternative to the “traditional” Santa. My favourite is “Pagan Santa” whose effects on children are described this way: “Your child will emerge with a greater respect for old traditions, other cultures and the healing power of intensive therapy.”
I meant favourite, as in funniest, not what I think we should be doing – although we may have something to learn from “Objectivist Santa.”
This article also makes me think what a truly “Christian” Santa would look like, instead of the overly commercialized western/northern/suburban/shopping mall/Coca-cola drinking variety that we have today. Mmmm – might giving taking on new meaning?
