Not sure if there will be more, but here is the first one that popped into my head.
Youth Ministry Maxim #1: Show Up Consistently
Whether you are a volunteer or paid staff doing youth ministry, you need to be at 9 out of every 10 events that youth are asked to be at. It’s a huge time commitment. Even if the youth are only there some of the time, you need to be there 9 out of 10 times. This doesn’t just apply to your own programs. It applies to taking youth to concerts or movies or whatever. It applies to large groups and when there are just 2 or 3. Youth Ministry is about relationships and trust, neither of which will be built if you don’t show up.
AND the 1 time out of 10 when you miss, they all need to know in advance that you won’t be there, they need to know why, and it needs to be a really good reason that makes sense for them. If you don’t feel like going, that is not good enough.
